Diary of an Edinburgher

Busy day

Gym✔️

Storm Hector didn’t amount to much this side of the country, though there is a tree down in the Meadows, according to a photo from Rufus while out on his rounds this morning.

Archie was very lucky, because Jordan had another day off, and he was still very fed up painting his new walls, so they went out again. And they RAN up the big steps. Archie let Jordan win, apparently. This is a windswept shot from the top. (Photo by Jordan).

I spent the whole day in my gym gear, doing a bit of housework here. I blackened the wee wood burner for the first time and it looks very smart indeed.

I had my EarPods in, which was great. Just as well there was nobody else around, because every now and then I’d have to burst into 'song' along with an old favourite. But I can’t sing (my biggest disappointment in life - especially as my mother sang in the church choir and at family weddings) so it has to be done in carefully secured locations.

JR did at least double the housework today, because she had her executive house keeping stint in the morning (after the gym), and came back home in full swing and proceeded to clean windows etc for the rest of the day. And I thought we'd done it for the last visitors. The house has never been so spic and span!

Archie also is spic and span - haircut and bath.

Yes, our visitor from London arrives this evening on the train. But she keeps texting with later and later arrival times...
