Firewood Finale
Ahhh, the last load of firewood to enter the basement. BJ and I worked hard these past couple of weeks to get the firewood all in for the winter.
Today we finished throwing in & stacking in the basement. We had wood leftover, and decided to stack that in the barn - as the almanac is saying a cold/snowy winter and we may need that extra stash. With it being in the barn, we could easily move it to the basement with the tractor.
It was such a nice day, we I decided that the chimney should be cleaned and the boiler readied. BJ, reluctant to move anymore than he had too - he has a head cold - climbed to the roof and swept the chimney.
I know it's a lot of work, and we were both very ready to be finished with firewood/chimneys/ashes/the dust/the dirt... but, with the colder temps upon us, it feels nice to sit back and be prepared for winter weather.
Kaylee had her first play rehearsal this afternoon. It's a small production of "The best Christmas pageant ever" at the Sparrow's Nest in West Mills. Yes, West Mills, her director gave us HORRIBLE directions, stating the theatre was on Rte 43 in Industry.... WRONG - after driving around for 1.5 hours looking for the place, asking a dozen locals where it was - we found it was on Rte. 148 out of Industry in the next town over - West Mills.
Despite our frustration with poor directions - she made it, acted out her parts like a star and had fun! It was great to see her up on stage - it'll be a great play!
