This morning a quick look around the Italian Chapel although by now the wind was gusting and we decided to head for the ferry terminal to check out sailings. The chapel was amazing, the poor woman on reception arrived early expecting a busy day with bus loads from two cruise ships and the normal pedestrian passengers off the John O’Groats ferry only to find all are now cancelled. Luckily the Pentland ferry company did the usual 11.30 run and we arrived back on mainland Scotland to be greeted by a howling gale. A horrible hundred mile drive with an overnight at Cromarty where all was calm. I think Hector had blown away.

We loved our two week roam around Orkney, there is more to see on our next visit.
