New Planters

Some new planters have been placed on the sea front promenade.....each one filled with Mediterranean herbs...
lavender, sage, thyme......
At first glance, they are simply attractive pieces of street furniture, to enhance the ambiance.......but, I think their main purpose is as security measures......
to prevent some “mad motorist” driving with intent, to harm the many pedestrians who enjoy the wide, flat walkway .....as has happened in other places, such as Nice and Barcelona
