Great Blue Herons

We were on the return leg of our walk this morning, chitchatting and what not when I caught sight of a couple of large birds flying over. I was extremely lucky to:

A. Notice this pair of birds at all
B. Realize they weren't Canada geese
C. Have a camera with me in addition to my iPhone
D. Manage to get it up and in focus for ONE shot

I did say - before raising the camera "Oooh look!!!" but all I got from The Husband was an eye roll. When I lowered my camera and said "that was a pair of great blue herons!" he was astonished. Probably wished he'd bothered to look... HA!
