Just to let you know...

Just to let you know,
when you've got no eyelashes
you click when you blink

and when you've got no hair
your nostrils look huge.

Apart from that
it's all very surreal
but disappointingly bearable.


I've been reading a lot of poetry recently (or at least trying to - the chemotherapy messes with your memory and your abiltiy to take things in). Today's poem is my response to this poem by William Carlos Williams, which I think is great:

This is just to say

I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox

and which
you were probably
saving
for breakfast

Forgive me
they were delicious
so sweet
and so cold


Been feeling quite down and poorly but getting there now, I hope.
