Rodents rule

A lazy morning snuggling up with Juno - neither one of us wanted to get up. Mini (as we’re now calling the younger ginger cat from next door) popped by and, cheekily, up on the bed to pay us a visit, no doubt wanting Juno to get up and play. JJ just ignored her so she b-boomed down and out the door.

Eventually, life called and I went with Fred down to West Norwood where, for once, the bike shop had everything Fred needed. I topped up the supplies from the pet shop and congratulated the Saturday girl for getting through three weeks of exams. Fingers crossed for fine results. She has 12 well-deserved weeks off school now.

The evening took us to the Victoria and Albert Museum to see the Frida Kahlo exhibition, which is well worth a visit. I’d read a lot about her life and work recently for a project and it was fascinating to see the paintings photographs and objects from her life close up. So many bright colours and wonderful patterns, but a lot of sadness and pain behind them, I believe. We came away feeling that she was a force for living life to the full no matter what.

I should have taken a photo of something more colourful in celebration of Kahlo, but it seems I’ve taken only a shot of the subway under the museum. It’ll do!

We had a wonderful walk from South Kensington to Victoria via some very posh houses indeed. We looked in estate agents’ windows to gawp at the prices. The most expensive was a house with six bedrooms and seven bathrooms: a snip at only £28 million! Blimey.
