Glenbow museum
A day in Calgary. We returned the rental car to the airport then hopped on a bus downtown.
After a coffee we found the Glenbow museum.
They have a rather sad display of art from around the 1880s when Canada was just being assimilated into the Empire, poor old bison being slaughtered mostly. Also an interesting display of First Nation culture.
Then an amazing collection of minerals and gemstones, including some phosphorescent ones and some gold!
A very striking collection of modern art by a First Nation artist Alex Janvier, very abstract yet with hidden images within the swirls of colour. See extra.
Back on the buses to Barbara's and Stacy cooked us lasagne. A lovely warm sunny day too.
