Nose Hill Park and downtown Calgary

Our last day out and we walked to Nose Hill Park. This is four square miles of prairie type grassland in the middle of Calgary. It is quite impressive. We saw a coyote and a Swainsons Hawk, and American Goldfinch.
It is a raised area and you can see all the way to the horizon, the Rocky Mountains in the distance and it is shocking to think of how the environment has been changed in just 150 years, the prairies used to stretch all the way with their herds of bison, and now it is all gone.
But we had a great holiday!!
