Hoover

Meet Hoover - the latest addition to the chipmunk population. Named by my husband because he sucks up sunflower seeds better than my vacuum cleaner. Hoover and Tarzan  had a little tiff over  the territory under  the bird feeder last week. Tarzan won that one. However since the service tree seems to be closer to Hoover's  house ( apparently in the field) , I think he won this round because it is loaded with berries and right now the feeder is empty. I shouldn't be surprised to find a chipmunk in a tree by this time , but I was surprised to see him that far out on a limb. And not bothered by the house finch and her babies , nor the goldfinches who were keeping on the other side of the tree. What a terrific buy it was ! It grew quickly and has fed the finches this year , cardinals , chestnut sided warblers , catbirds and loads of cedar waxwings! And now a chipmunk . 
The extra is  post climbing down , scanning to see the safest route home with his stuffed little cheeks.
