Comfort food

The polls are just now closing on the west coast, and I need a break from the tv and biting my nails. Tried to find some Americana blip for Election Day, but nothing riveted me. So, here is dinner - hot soup (all the leftovers from the frig) and salad, a glass of wine and candlelight- for bit of comfort. We reminisced about being in Venice for the 2000 election, going out for a fine lunch with a glass of prosecco to celebrate Al Gore's win! It wasn't til later in the day, back at our apartment with Italian tv news that we figured out it wasn't so! Oh I hope there is a decision tonight!
