Vacation Day 3

The day was very relaxing walkign around the Old town at Da Li. Sooooo many things to take pictures of and so many picture were taken.

Old men with so much character on their faces. The stories I bet they could tell.. Old women dressed in the traditional clothing of the ethnic group that lives in the Yun Nan Province. Traders of all descriptions and some that defied description. Young people having fun playing with next to nothing and others causing havoc with fireworks.. So diverse and interesting. Amazing old buildings and newer ones under construction. We couldn't resist the urge to buy some fireworks and take pics as they were being let off in the street.

It was Chinese New Year's Eve so Dave put on free hot pot at the Hostel then we went on to the roof to watch the fireworks. It ended up not being the best place to watch them because there was a row of trees in the way but it was great to see some of the bigger ones going off above the tree line.

It is common to see three people on a motorcycle in China but every once in a while four people squeeze on.. I saw five at one stage (a whole family of dad, mum and three kids but didn't have the camera ready). I am not sure if the 'driver' (second one on the bike) can actually see where he is going.
