Skiffs
Today we felt the power of Storm Hector.
Very windy overnight and through most of the day.
Wet morning, so we just stayed in the cottage and read.
Lunch was from the Seafood Shack.
After lunch we drove out to Ardmair, but it was still pretty windy so we decided not to take Fergus for a walk.
Back in town we went walking along West Terrace and the went down to the riverside walk. We spotted the ferry coming in though the Summer Isles.(see extra)
I'm sure the passengers were glad when they reached the shelter of the Summer Isles and Loch Broom.
Unfortunately we got caught in the rain but carried on with our riverside walk then went down to the harbour and watched the ferry leaving for Stornoway. Afternoon teatime treats today were from the Deli in Argyle Street, just past the White Rabbit curio shop.
These are the skiffs at Ullapool harbour on a few evenings we have watched the rowers take these out on Loch Broom.
Lovely sleek design when you see them in the water.
