Elfin

Cloudy start to the day.
Headed north to Elphin this morning to have a look at the local market which takes place there every Wednesday during the summer season.
Got a good view of Sulliven in the near distance as we entered the village.
After a quick look round the market we headed to Jan Kilpatrick's studio which was open.
Great chance to see inside her studio and get to speak to the artist.

Rather than travel further north we turned and headed back to Ullapool as rain was forecast for the early afternoon.
Stopped at Ardmair again enjoying the views of Ben Mor Coigach and out over the sea to the Summer Isles.
Also a good chance to listen to the podcast of Liz Lochead's Desert Island Disc, which was excellent.
The forecast rain made an appearance just after lunch so we spent a quiet afternoon in our holiday cottage reading and painting.
