Ruskin Glass Centre.
I had an appointment at Corbett Hospital this morning and on the way home we passed the Ruskin Glass Centre which is, of course, connected to my earlier blips of the 13th May, The Red House Glass Cone and the 13th June, The Crystal Mile.
Today's blip is the outside of the building. We'll explore the inside at a later date.
I obtained some information about the Centre from its web site. Apparently, following a £1.4m refurbishment, made possible thanks to funding from Advantage West Midlands, the site that once was home to the glass trade greats of Royal Doulton and Webb Corbett is continuing to help the glass trade thrive in Stourbridge.
The Ruskin Glass Centre is home to a wide array of glass crafts; from live glassblowing, respected studio glass artists, engravers, glass decorators, and glass repair specialists to the diverse yet complementary trades of furniture design, handmade soap, textiles, photography, printing and publishing.
There is also a brand new 30 cover café on site serving high quality fresh organic snacks, meals and desserts.
It certainly sounds worth a visit.
