Feeling Autumnal

I do love this time of year, if only for the colours, not for the cold.

I came to Montpellier without a coat. It was not sensible to assume that just because Montpellier is in the South it would be warm! Even so, we decided to brave the weather and attempt to find the beach. We weren't sucessful and had to comfort ourselves with a trip to Brioche Doree. A banana and chocolate tart was my choice, as ever. In the afternoon we explored the old town, following a route we found in a guide book helpfully provided by Chantal, the lady we were staying with. The views were lovely. Plenty of petites rues and french looking doors for us to take photos of, like proper tourists. After a second trip to Brioche Doree for hot chocolate, we ended up in Le Place Peyrou which was pretty beautiful. The evening meant warming up in a creperie and heading home for an evening in bed with our Kindles and a bit of French practice (definitely needed) with Chantal! Clearly living the life of 20 year olds.

Although I took many photos today, this one of Ella captures the fun we had just exploring the town.
