Standing Stones and Omnibuses
Today, the Abergavenny Walking for Health group walked through the Swan Meadows, wherein is a stone circle, moved here from when the National Eisteddfod was held in 1913 in a field nearby. It's next to the bus station. I wanted to blip the group passing, but the sun decided to hide for that short time.
Good turn-out today - must have been over 40 walkers. We average about 32 over the year, an hour's walk every Wednesday morning. We have about ten routes around the town, and every six weeks or so, hire a coach or minibuses and go for an out-of-town walk.
The hill (what we call a mountain) in the background is the Blorenge. According to CB, there is a legend that it is full of water and one day it will burst and then we'll all be sorry.
