Back of the head

After a day of Board meetings, Audit and Risk Committee and a public board meeting I headed over Irvine.

What should have been and hour and 20 minutes drive took an hour extra due to traffic. Rush hour? consequence of Royal Highland Show? Definitely tractors and slow bus.

In any event arrived 10 minutes later than I should have. But just in time for my slot to say thank you to our volunteers in Ayrshire. Two notable members of the team are moving on: Mike Burr and Ray Young, each of whom has served the system for years and years.

There is no real way we can thank them for what they have done but it was great, amongst the recognition of those who have done. 5, 10, 15 and 25 years, that Mike and Ray were singled out.

The Ayrshire AST embraces the 3 Ayrshire Counciles ( North, East and South). Each Provost had brought along a gift for each of them which was both generous and fitting.

Lots of photos taken but I think this this summed up the evening. ( The photographer was not to pleased to see the back of his head!)

The journey back, despite the cold, mist and very very heavy rain and surface water, even at 65 mph, tTook the expected time
