'Below the Stones'
To Duddo Stone Circle this evening, with MrM and Mouldy, to see a fantastic new play, written by a local woman and performed by local people. It was set in Bronze Age Britain, in the area around Duddo and nearby Maelmin, where there is a 4000-year-old henge site. Thoroughly enjoyable.
We had taken a picnic to eat before the performance, and it was a lovely evening to sit outside, listening to the skylarks singing as we ate. Blue sky for the most part and it was very clear, affording fabulous views of the Cheviot Hills. [Cheviot Hills in the distance in the extra, taken as the (large and appreciative) audience are starting to make their way down through the field to the road.]
What better way to spend the Summer Solstice!
