In flight

Had taken my camera with me to work to do a team photo of one of the groups I've been working with for a number of years so I did the obligatory stop on route for a blip of the morning light. I'de done a few contra jour images across the field when I heard a honking and in the top of the viewfinder a couple of birds appeared. I zoomed back to reveal this large group of birds (couldn't tell if they are swans or Canada Geese) heading south.

Of course I had a completely useless setup on the camera to capture them and not having time to change setting I just shot away in the few seconds I had. There's little or no detail in the birds but I hope the mono processing adds something to the image (I think using the word shot might be inappropriate ...).

Caught up of a couple of things that have arisen over the last couple of days and then on to finishing off what I had started before the week off. A run of the mill and relatively stress free day for a change.

A trip out tomorrow to the transmitting station at Emley moor. Am taking our new data analyst with me to introducing him to the folks up there and hopefully might get another trip up the tower. 865 feet and nine minutes in a rattly cage to the top - great fun and super view from the top. A trip money can't buy.
