Hobbs's Run

The Broad Kanimbla

Unlike most highland areas around the world, historic happenstance led to the ridges being settled first and the valleys left relatively pristine, remaining the principal scenic features. Around here, the Jamison and the Grose are part of the declared Blue Mountains national park, whereas the Megalong, Hartley and Kanimbla have been partly utilised by humans for light farming and rural style residential.

Even though the Kanimbla is not a formal reserve, it is still my favourite and retains a kind of "dreamtime" quality to it in places (see extras). Here I am atop Mt Victoria's "Pulpit Rock" looking south for the first time in a couple of years. In any event, I don't think I've tried a proper pano from here before. If you have time, why not take a peek LARGE.
