Favourite Cactus

This had not opened when we went on holiday eight days ago and I was fearful that I might miss it. But luckily it was looking good when we got home yesterday.

It is Gymnocalicium andreae. It comes from Cordoba in Argentina.

Thanks to everybody who said nice things yesterday about the orchids in Mrs.K’s wild garden area. This morning I persuaded her to count the number in flower. There are 65.mainly Northern Marsh and Common Spotted. The Twayblades have been over for some weeks.
