Reeves Muntjac
Another hot, sunny day, rather too hot for knitting, but I completed hat number sixty-eight in green in the same pattern as yesterday’s picture.
I also sorted out details and a custom’s form, for a parcel for collection by FedEx tomorrow. I originally sent this parcel on 5 June via MyHermes, but it set off the scanners before it left the country so it was returned to me on 18 June. I have had three “live chats” with MyHermes and they still do not know why it was returned, but “might” have been due to the fridge magnet in the package. Fridge magnets are not on the restricted list of items to be sent to the USA or on MyHermes list. They have now said contact them again on Monday regarding delivery or a refund; I have asked for a refund. As this parcel is now very overdue I am sending it via FedEx. This involved a detailed, in triplicate, “Commercial Invoice” to be produced, something MyHermes did not ask for. Hopefully the parcel will arrive at its destination on Saturday 30 June. It is due to fly to the USA on Monday evening and so it is likely that it will fly from Stansted Airport. The FedEx Heavies leave the airport at around 2100 hours and 2200 hours every night, they often fly over my house, so hopefully it will be on one of them.
Other than that, just some knitting done today although I did cook lunch, an easy one that was mostly cooked just in the oven and was lifted in and out by my husband. I can lift all the component parts separately, but once put together they weigh more than I am allowed to lift!
Today’s picture is of a Reeves Munjac, which sauntered across the lawn just outside the back door. It even allowed me to take its picture with the conservatory door open. A short while earlier my husband saw a baby fox, also just outside the door, but I was not quick enough to see it. Dougal did and was asking to come in, even though the fox was no bigger than he is.
