Mersey Gateway Bridge

A mixed day. We arranged to meet a friend at a pub near Warrington. I realised it was not going to be perfect when, on arrival, we were asked "are you with the pensioners' lunch or here for the bingo?" Just as our food was served, a chap at the other end of the pub started to inflict upon us karaoke versions of "hits from the 60s" at deafening volume. We complained to the waitress who said she agreed but could not do anything "because we have a central system."

After escaping from there we drove across the newish Mersey Gateway Bridge.  I took this shot from the passenger seat.  My fellow travellers then expressed a strong desire to spend an hour wandering around a massive Marks and Spencer's store.  Home now and an Aperol Spritz has never been more welcome.
