Golden Ringed...
Dragon male made his first appearance this season. He hunted over the burn then spent another ten minutes quartering the bog. Even though it is very dry, there are still plenty of suitable prey items for him, flies, midges, butterflies!
The heat has brought out lots of Butterflies, Northern Brown Argus, Meadow Browns, Ringlets, common Blues, Small Heath and a Burnet Moth.
Went to the loch below for some breeze. It is at 1500' and while still very hot at 24C there was a wonderful 'oxter air' blowing to make it comfortable to walk.
The lochan had 70 Geese and Goslings feeding and sheltering and hundreds of tadpoles.
