CannyScot's Day

By CannyScot

Bruce Stone, Clatteringshaws, Galloway

A very hot, sunny day

We set out to explore the Galloway Forest Park, an area we had never been to before.

Our first stop took us to Clatteringshaws Visitor Centre and a walk out to the Bruce Stone. This is apparently the stone that Robert the Bruce rested against while on the run from the English Army. I re-enacted the scene, in need of a rest after the walk.

We then travelled round to the Glentrool Centre where we had a lovely walk of around a mile and a half up into the hills.

We are glad that we chose to visit this previously unknown area, for us, since it really is a beautiful part of Scotland.
