All-American
My sister, L, is the one on the right. We're posing for Myspace.
Today was an All American Day. It included an American Flag waving proudly in front of McDonalds, and free Grand Slam Breakfasts at Denny's. A Grand Slam is basically two pancakes, two strips of bacon, two sausage links and two eggs done whichever way you like. Denny's is basically a resturant for old folks that attracts lots of young people because they are open 24/7. I don't like bacon very much, but the rest was pretty good (especially because it was free). This generous give-away has been happening since 6 a.m. and ended just now at 2 p.m. I don't know why it was free.
When we arrived at the resturant, there was a line out the door. Our hearts wavered, but still (being proud, bargain-lusting Americans?) we were determined. We waited for an hour for our table. Then Mom, Little Brother, L and I took Myspace pictures etc. This was spurred on by Little Brother having a photography lesson in art class. I taught him how to use the crop feature on a cell phone while sitting at the table.
Service was speedy and now, our bellies filled with good American breakfast-for-lunches, we are resting at home as all good Americans should. ;]
