Brightlingsea again today, meeting Jeff to finalise plans for resources for schools for the 2018 - 2019 academic year. It's a great project and Jeff is a great guy, never happier than when he's with people. He's full of fun, full of stories and one of life's joyful celebrators.

Brightlingsea is a limb of Sandwich, one of the Cinque Ports.
It was for many years twinned with French oyster fishery port Marennes but (great turn of phrase here) “the relationship fell into disuse”.

And pictured is Bateman's tower, built in 1883 by John Bateman and used as a folly for his daughter to recuperate from consumption. Or it may have been intended as a lighthouse.
