when my aunt extended her house, she had it built on raised ground so the house wouldn't get flooded when it rains. now the second half of the house is higher than the house next door, and so they built a little wall to keep the rain water from flooding that house.

i rarely go next door because my uncle's there most of the time...and it's intimidating from being around him (this is the uncle that said women should know there place and should only speak when spoken to). he hasn't been around this week so i ventured into the backyard, where mosquitoes feasted on my leg. i didn't stay long. three mosquitoes were on me when i took this picture of the brick wall. one was right on my thumb. little bastards.
