A favorite A-frame
My favorite A-frame amongst my favorite Poconos trees. My sister captured the picture this weekend and sent it to me to show what my former vacation house looks like today. The current owners have kept it in good condition (altho I do miss the hand-split cedar shake roof). I helped design several interesting details on the home, in & out, including dimensions. It’s larger than it looks; 27’x35’. I won’t bore you with all the build/live/sell details but at one time my sister, myself, and our parents each had homes, side by side, at the end of this 1-mile private lane; little red barn, a-frame & chalet respectively. The lane dead-ended into PA State game land. It was a perfect vacation spot, only 2hours, easy, pretty ride from home. We were blessed with beautiful trees, flowers, & wild life (black bears, deer, raccoons, etc.) and a lovely cedar lake nearby for swimming and sport.
Sigh. One day, again . . . .
