Tillingbourne

This footbridge crosses the Tillingbourne at Abinger Hammer.
The stream runs at the foot of the North Downs in central Surrey. It passes though several pretty villages and in most of them there was originally a watermill. At Chilworth the mill powered a gunpowder factory.
Here at Abinger iron was the basis of early industry.
