Felled giants

It was busy around the moat this morning when we went out.  The reason for the delay soon became clear, a couple of palm trees were being removed.   We assume that this is to prevent them falling during the rainy season, as the roots on these trees do not go as deep.  It still seemed sad though.  No native trees have been removed.  My extras shows the crane that was taking up half the road plus a policeman who was making sure everything went smoothly.  We did see some pieces of tree trunk being taken away by passing motorists.
