End of an Era
I've spent many happy hours swimming up and down the pool here, with varying degrees of speed. At my peak, I was going 3 times a week before work. It was the only pool left in Midlothian with separate changing rooms, which was nice, showering by the side of the pool is always a bit off-putting.
Miss H started swimming lessons here when she was about 4 months old and when she was a petite 9 year old twice suffered the indignity of being asked to prove that she could swim 2 lengths without stopping. Cue one very annoyed child who had been swimming laps for 2 years by this point!
A new, replacement high school has been built a few miles away, and a pool has gone in there. I've not visited it yet, but hopefully if I do on a morning before work I will still see some of the older ladies I used to have a chat with.
I took this on my way back from buying BBQ supplies - it was such an unusual experience for it to be warm enough to sit outside in the evening and enjoy food and drink with both my brothers and sis-in-laws and nephew.
