Stay!
Breagh in the way as I put sawdust in the trailer. An early start to get the sheep in before the heat. Then hours and hours of sorting into selling groups paring all ewes and lambs with much toing and froing. A break in the middle of the day as it's just too hot to be chasing the poor sheep round. Never mind for us! After sorting we loaded them and husband took them to a field at the mart for overnight. He had 3 trailer loads to take. On the second one we had a break out of ewes where a gate got knocked over. We did have a dog for such and instance but the ewes were very naughty and didn't want to go back to the pens so I ran back to the house for back up. Old Shaw our red collie you can see in picture in extra made them get back in no questions asked. We loaded the trailer and as you can see in next extra the dogs took it in turns to cool down in the water trough. Even at 6.30pm at night it was too hot for them to work.
Even the pet lambs have gone and now I feel a little sad as sheep I've looked after and cared for for the last 6 years will no longer be mine. Some with names too. It's the beginning of the end of our farm. I hope they sell well...
