a lesson in portraiture

use diffused side light (cloudy day off the covered deck)
stand 10 feet back from your subject and zoom in
have subject at an angle looking back over shoulder
whistle to get subject's attention
(normally I would have postprocessed this by cropping in closer and lightening it up a bit, but I am still trying to challenge myself to get it right in the camera)
