Grange and Arnside

Beautiful day again, very hot too!

We headed up towards the Lakes for the day, but to the hopefully quieter Grange Over Sands, where we parked and had a wonder.
Found a lovely little cafe on the promenade called Emmas, great coffee and a lovely sandwich.

We walked back to the station and decided to take the train across the estuary to Arnside.
It cost £2.30 return, and took 6 minutes each way :-). We walked along the waters edge, as the tide was coming in, watched some fishermen, walked a little more, then stopped for an ice cream, two hours just flew by, before we went to get the train back to Grange.

We walked from the station up into the town centre, called into a pub, had a refreshing drink, I actually had a pint for the first time ever!!

We left around 6 in an effort to avoid the evening rush, which paid off, we were home in pretty good time, other than having to leave the motorway, as the police were closing it, an incident or accident! We were very fortunate as we were literally be an exit to come off as they stopped us, so it didnt really delay us, we were fsirly close to home, so found our way thankfully!

Lots of watering again when we got home, before sitting in the garden for an hour to rest our legs after our 15,000 plus steps.

The blip is of the familiar railway bridge across the estuary, plus a couple of extras. I almost blipped the station at Grange.....love how you can see the estuary through the windows :-)
The other station is at Arnside.

Oh yes, quiz winners again last night! ;-)
