Ferry Man
We had coffee in Nero this morning then wandered down to the River Festival. We were able to cross today and had a look at the stalls before catching the ferry back.
There was a bit of a queue but caught the third boat (it only takes about ten minutes there and back). As we were waiting I noticed the movement of a blue horned caterpillar on the ground. I took a pic and we looked it up on t'net. Apparently it's a Lime Hawk moth, and the blue 'horn' is actually the rear end. See extra.
The main picture is the ferryman whose unenviable, voluntary task is to wind the ferry along it's chain from one side to the other, continuously umpteen times a day. The plaque shows the name and age of the boat.
