Having a laugh on tram 28
We spent the day pottering around Lisbon today, taking in the sights and smells of a city at ease with itself. The city has beautiful parts (the tiles and pastel colours that adorn the houses, the trams and the cobbled streets). There is conversely, plenty of graffiti as well which gives the city a certain edginess but on occasion when it is found on an old building or monument, can look scruffy and even squalid. Still, despite all this, the city is a delight to explore with so much going for it.
Today we coincided with Brazil's game against Mexico which we saw from a very high vantage point on top of the fan zone with a zillion Brazilian fans. They and the Portuguese were naturally delighted with the score line. We also visited the contemporary art museum and hence the shot of Mrs P in sympathetic pose in front of one of the exhibits (her idea, not mine!)
