The dropped stitch

Looking for treasure

First day with the grandchildren and we played one of our favourites: looking under the couch for treasures.

Blip is Rio with his torch surveying the territory. Freya then moved in, reaching underneath with a wooden spoon to flick things out. (We used to use a toy golf club which did a better job, but it could not be found today.

I was in charge of dust and fluff removal and tried to bin unidentifiable pieces of plastic toys before someone claimed them.

Our haul included, many items of Barbie's wardrobe, cars, football cards, a hairbrush, comb, hair slides and clips, a Christmas bauble, assorted lego and a plastic chicken leg.

I love the delight with which the findings are greeted. Their discovery will often spark a new game, with a long lost item feeling like a brand new toy!
