Chimney, Lauriston Building, Edinburgh

I had my outpatient appointment today in this building following my hip replacement. All generally OK and thank goodness, I can stop wearing my anti-embolism stockings! I'm not quite sure why this outpatient building needs such an enormous chimney, but at one time there was a plan to rebuild the Royal Infirmary on its original site, and at that stage the building was known as "Phase One", so maybe it was going to power the whole hosptial. In any case it provided me with today's blip, so I'm not complaining.
