Small Town America 4th of July Parade
The parade in Rockaway Beach is fun with homemade floats, old cars, boats, trucks, fire engine and police car. Everyone throwing candy that the children rush to add to their bag of goodies and adults smiling with joy. (see extra) The car in the photo is owned and driven by our son's father-in-law; all the grandchildren have had a chance to ride in the parade. This year the youngest children in the extended family were the only ones wanting to ride in the car and throw out candy. They were so excited.
We took whoever wanted out crabbing; it was delightful being out on the water. We only caught 4 crab but we had so much fun. We saw several seals, lots of sea birds, a bald eagle and a large number of jelly fish. We even made a trip to the floating toilet in crab harbor.....exciting times. :-))
Tonight we went to a friends condo on the beach. We had so much fun with a fun couple; their balcony was the best location for watching the big fireworks display over the ocean. I didn't even attempt a photo of the bright lights.
Now that I write about it......it was a busy fun day!!!
