A Day At A Time.

Reunited

This is no ordinary oak tree. In late June 1982, I scattered my father's ashes beneath this tree, according to his wishes. He could see his beloved house "Lower Poswick" from there across the valley.

And today I scattered Mum's ashes there too, reuniting them after 36 years.

It has been an emotional journey from southern Spain to a hilltop in Herefordshire, but one I had promised to make over two years ago.

And as the ashes fell to the ground around the roots of this magnificent tree, the breeze blew some up and towards the trunk of the tree, as if to say, "Come here now, where have you been for all this time?"

Together at last in peace.
