Day 2 Oberland Alpine Trek

Gspaltenhorn area.

What a fantastic walk to the Gspaltenhornhutte, at 2455m in cloudy weather. After yesterday, it was a relief to be out of the sun. We initially had a drop of 800m then crossed a dramatic black glacier to climb up to the hut perched high on a rock (see extra). It has wonderful modern facilities and is so clean. The hut guardians are two sisters who make wonderful cherry pie!

Tomorrow change of plan as the col of the Gamchilucke is too dangerous
