Anyone for tennis?

Well if you cannot actually be at Wimbledon this is one way of keeping in touch with ball by ball action.

The giant outdoor screen is  located at the West Quay shopping and entertainment mall in Southampton and provides a grandstand view of live television from Wimbledon.

With the qualifiers already over and players from around the world ranked, tennis fans can kick back on deckchairs and giant bean bags in front of the city's historic mediaeval walls.

West Quay managers say they are hoping to entice fans down to their very own 'Centre Court' with offers from restaurants and a bar serving Pimms, strawberries and cream and cocktails.

There is also be a 'game garden' with table tennis, chess, connect four and a sand pit for children.

It's the latest in a series of regular events at the new West Quay. The outdoor auditorium was designed in a bid to highlight the city's mediaeval walls and has already featured a number of events including a giant maze, light shows, a festival of colour and an ice rink. The shopping centre was recently awarded two international awards for architecture.
