Memories of steam

Not quite the Bournemouth Belle I would like to have seen, but nevertheless this morning’s train passing through Totton on its way to Bournemouth was an evocative memory of the days of the great steam trains.
It would have been nice to have seen the locomotive British India Line hauling the famous character livery of the Pullman cars of the famous “belles,” but it was satisfying enough just to catch glimpse of a fully-fledged steam train in action.
