Open Day

Today there was an open day at The Cairns, an archaeological dig just a bit further south from here, so we pootled down to have a look.  Absolutely fascinating, lots about it on line too.  A couple of years ago we went to a talk about it, but since then so much more has been uncovered and discovered.  A really interesting morning.  

Spotted the extra in the car park!  Orkney Trike Tours- just the thing!  Such a great idea, and great fun too, I bet.  

Surprise visit from J's dog Scratch in the afternoon.  She was being walked by J's visitors and ran away after a rabbit!  The visitors knew she would probably end up at ours, so we all sat in the garden until she deigned to turn up!  Very pleasant it was too - but she is a little madam!

Neighbours for a meal in the evening, which rounded off a lovely day very well!
