S'mores
Our American colleague Laura organised a post-work July 4th American Independence Day thing on Jesus Green. She threatened to bring the 4th of July favourite (favorite) s'mores, which no British person has heard of. In the end we fell upon huge bags of gigantic marshmallows that took a few days of solid collective eating in the office to finish off.
Hannah and I had to curtail the celebration to join a volunteer group meeting which had two purposes: 1) eat vast amounts of Syrian food that we hugely over-catered, and 2) assemble a larger group of people who volunteer with us to share information on our strategy and other dry but important things such as safeguarding and data protection. It went well and despite being ripped away from the s'mores I felt very buoyed by the evening.
