Eggleston Abbey

Today we travelled home from Newcastle but headed towards Carlisle, taking a left at Haydon Bridge to Alston, then another left to Middleton-in-Teesdale and Barnard Castle via High Force Falls and picking up the A1 at Scotch Corner.

The scenery was amazing in its variety, the roads were quiet apart from cyclists and a few motor cyclists and we enjoyed it enormously.

I’ve added extras which include High Force Falls and a glimpse of the wonderful Bowes Museum at Barnard Castle.

One of the reasons for going to High Force was to practice freezing water with shutter speed, with some success. Another extra.

ps Just heard from my young protege that he got a second and third for his pictures at the local show. Thrilled.
