Bus Challenge(-ish) No 149!

Saltford Lock, River Avon

A very short bus trip this morning, with the heat and fatigue being the challenge for today! My BC friend and I started today’s journey at opposite ends of the route and met in the middle, where we walked down to the River Avon and to the riverside pub on Saltford Lock. Sitting outside in the cool shade, we had lovely views of the river, and were entertained by the canal boats passing through the lock. I didn’t even need to leave my shady seat to take this photo!

(M is adamant that he doesn’t want any visitors (in fact I’m the only person who knows he’s in hospital), and I have to respect that. That’s the way he deals with illness, always has and probably always will. I’m in daily contact with him, and he knows that he only has to ask and I’ll be there. If he was in a local hospital then I would pop by to see him, but as it’s a 12 hour round trip on public transport to get to him, that’s not feasible. So, even though it’s the opposite of what I would do, I have to respect his wishes.)
