Harris Tweed tea cosy
My Harris Tweed tea cosy, which I made several years ago, recently suffered another attack of the famous Edinburgh moth. I patched it up a few days ago, then washed it, and today I finished the upgrade by completely replacing the wadding and lining. I even used my sewing machine at one point! Here is the completed article, modelled by my sheep teapot atop my Christmas hamper. I bet you can't tell which is the new patch :-)
I also continued the sorting that I started when on sick leave. In the hall there is now a pile of books which fall into the category of 'Will never consult again, nor recommend to anyone else' to be transported to the charity shop tomorrow.
This day of domesticity would not have been complete without a stint of soup-making - in this case pea and ham.
In between all this Bruce and I corresponded about Wednesday's event by phone and email. Unfortunately one of our main speakers has pulled out so we have been obliged to rejig the programme and fill the missing speaker's slot in a rather imaginative way. We also had two delegates announce that they can't make it after all, and another late joiner. This all means that we need to print out new programmes and delegate lists for the packs that we made up on Friday <grrr>.
Exercise today: run (same route as Saturday, but almost two minutes slower); walking (15,309 steps, including run)
